![]() ![]() My current iaito is a bit too long for me, so I'm forced to do a bit more dramatic movements too. I'm going to bring it up to my sensei again, but if anyone here has any idea what I could do, I'd appreciate the advice greatly!Īgain, either way, thank you for your time! Do you think this might actually help? Or maybe there's a special way to tie it I could try. I didn't get to ask her about it, unfortunately. I saw another woman once who didn't look too much heavier than me, using a kaku obi. My (male) sensei are trying to figure this out with me, but they're quite shy about the topic since they don't want to overstep boundaries (bless their hearts). If I tie it higher, around my waist, it obviously doesn't sit right and I have trouble with things like sayabiki.Īny resource I can find on the internet tells me to ask the other women in my dojo - however, my dojo has very very few, and they're heavier than I am, with a much smaller waist to hip ratio, so they can't help me. ![]() If I tie the obi on my hip, it inevitably travels upwards, and will sit loosely on my waist my saya dangling basically on the ground. I have a very tiny waist, and obviously a wider hip than the waist. It's usually fine at first, but after a while of training, it all goes south. I still, to this time, have trouble putting on the obi in such a way that everything is tight/loose enough. Hello again! I also hope it's okay for me to ask two things in a row (I swear it's my last question for now!). ![]()
